Аннотация:
Based on a questionnaire survey conducted in educational institutions of Krasnodar with the participation of 2,000 school children in the core group (1137 males and 863 females) and 400 school children in the control group (228 males and 172 females), we performed an analysis of the epidemiological situation of alcohol use and abuse, took measures for primary prevention of alcohol addiction and evaluated the effectiveness of the said measures. At the start of the survey, out of the 2000 participants of the core group 148 were in the "risk group" (95 males and 53 females), 49 fell into the group of episodic drinking (29 males and 20 females), and 20 were in the alcohol addiction group (13 males and 7 females). The participants from the above mentioned groups were sent to the prevention and dispensary divisions of the drug and alcohol treatment centre. The primary prevention was based upon the following: learning sessions focusing on teaching about the adverse effects of alcohol abuse, as well as visual demonstrations of the harm caused by alcohol consumption (lectures, conversations, discussions, pamphlets, booklets, memos); educational work – training and role play; organisation of recreational activities (arts and sports extracurricular activities); preventive and precautionary works (patronage). At the end of the reporting period, on 01.06.2013, as a result of conducting primary prevention works among the school children in the core group, there were no instances of alcohol use among the 900 participants not using alcohol. In the control group, where no prevention works were carried out, the number of teenagers using alcohol increased (p<0.05) from 15 (3.75%) to 21 people (5.25%).
