Genetics of substance dependence: family history as a biomedical phenomenon

KIBITOV A. O.

Аннотация:
The aim of this review is to analyze the genetic, biological and clinical data on the phenomenon of family history on substance abuse in order to clarify its clinical and biological entity, a "spectral" nature and role in the etiopathogenesis of substance dependence, regardless of the type of substance of abuse. The correct quantitative analysis of family history and trajectory of substance dependence development is necessary and effective in order to identify elements of the clinical phenotype – the clinical parameters of the disease under genetic control. Formulate evidence-based approaches to the diagnosis of hereditary forms of substance dependence, the most severe, "malignant" and rapidly progressive, requiring early differential diagnosis and effective, specific and personalized therapy.
