Аннотация:
Introduction. Alcohol addiction is characterized by chronic alcohol consumption, despite adverse health effects. The main cognitive disorders that characterize the state of alcohol dependence include impaired working memory and Executive functions. It has been suggested that a decrease in Executive functioning, which is a characteristic feature of patients with alcoholism, leads to working memory disorders.
Aim. To study the effect of Executive functioning deficit on working memory in people with alcohol dependence.
Methods. We examined 60 patients aged 30–50 years with a diagnosis of: Mental disorders and behavioral disorders associated with the use of psychoactive substances, alcohol dependence syndrome, after detoxification. The performance level was assessed using the Go/Nogo task. The study of working memory was carried out using the Corsi Block–Tapping test.
Results. Patients with alcohol dependence show lower results in performing the Go/Nogo and Corsi task compared to mentally and somatically healthy individuals. Correlation analysis of the data showed that a large number of errors in the task for inhibitory control is accompanied by a significant decrease in the volume of working memory in patients with alcoholism.
