Аннотация:
Aim: to study the demographic and socio-psychological characteristics of primary patients who have suffered acute alcohol poisoning and who have agreed to transfer from the toxicology department to the hospital department of the drug clinic for the treatment of addiction syndrome.
Methods. The sample was 45 patients aged 27 – 66 (34 men, 11 women). Patients were assessed: level of education, marital status, employment, existence of criminal record, disability. There was also an analysis of the duration of the period of alcohol abuse and the formed withdrawal syndrome and the level of personal changes (moral-ethical, intellectual-mnestic, emotional, as well as signs of personality degradation). The results were compared with similar characteristics of the control group – patients who first entered the hospital department of the drug clinic in the directions of drug addicts from outpatient polyclinic departments and in the directions of emergency medical care (excluding psychoactive substance poisoning). Statistical processing of the data was carried out using descriptor statistics, Student ‘s t-criterion for independent samples.
Results. In the study group, the proportion of patients is significantly higher than in the control group: persons with criminal records, persons with disabilities who are not working, not in family relations, persons without a certain place of residence.
Conclusion. The peculiarities of socio-psychological characteristics of the studied category of patients have been revealed, which allow to correct motivational work aimed at reducing the latency of chronic alcoholism and drug addiction.
