Аннотация:
The Collective Security Treaty Organization was founded on May 15, 1992 in Tashkent (Uzbekistan) by the heads of six member states – Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan. In September 1993, Azerbaijan joined it, in December of the same year – Georgia and Belarus. The agreement entered into force on April 20, 1994 for a period of five years. In April 1999, six countries (except Azerbaijan, Georgia and Uzbekistan) signed the protocol on the extension of the Collective Security Treaty. On May 14, 2002, the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) was established, uniting Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan. In June 2006, a decision was made "On the restoration of the membership of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the CSTO" but in December 2012, the membership of this country was suspended. Currently, the CSTO includes six states – Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan. In order to coordinate activities in the fields of drug demand reduction, prevention of illicit traffic in narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, and treatment and rehabilitation of people with drug use disorder in the member states of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, a coordination meeting of the chief drug narcologists of the CSTO member states has been operating since 2013 on a systematic basis. It was created by decision of the Committee of Secretaries of the Security Councils of the CSTO countries. Meetings are held annually. The main area of activity is interaction between the competent authorities of the CSTO member states in order to implement a balanced anti-drug policy.
