Аннотация:
Aim: to study the impact of forced self-isolation of the population during the period of restrictive measures related to COVID-19 infection on some alcohol-attributive factors and alcohol-associated conditions in the Volga Federal District regions.
Methods. Data on monthly sales of strong alcoholic beverages, the number of crimes committed, the number of registered alcoholic psychoses, alcohol overdosing, including deaths during the period of forced self-isolation (April – June 2020) with similar periods (April – June) from 2017 to 2019, were compared.
Results. As a result of comparing the median values of the studied indicators during the period of forced self-isolation and before it, Mann–Whitney test values were obtained, which allow assessing the degree of reliability of differences, and as a result, assessing the impact of restrictive measures on some indicators of public health.
Conclusion. The influence of the self-isolation factor on the sales of strong alcohol, as well as on the number of registered alcoholic psychoses and overdosing in the Volga Federal District regions was determined.
