Аннотация:
Introduction. The results of this study make it possible to determine the characteristics of a group of drivers with an increased risk of road traffic accidents (hereinafter – RTA) associated with intoxication or refusal to obtain a medical examination. In turn, the analysis of these characteristics will make it possible to clarify the required amount of diagnostic and preventive interventions in relation to drivers in order to prevent driving in a state of intoxication and the occurrence of an accident. The subsequent implementation of the results obtained in the activities of the narcological service will help preserve the life and health of citizens of the country, i.e. actually improve their quality of life. Aim: to study and analyze the socio-demographic and individual behavioral characteristics of drivers who committed RTA while intoxicated or who refused a medical examination for intoxication after an RTA. Methods. An electronic database containing information about all drivers who performed in Moscow in 2014-2019 RTA in a state of intoxication or those who refused a medical examination for intoxication after RTA (N = 2929). Statistical analysis was performed using licensed IBM SPSS 25.0 software. The mean and proportional indicators, standard deviation, median, odds ratio and its confidence interval were calculated. The Pearson χ2 test was used to identify differences between categorical variables. Results. For the first time, the characteristics of a group of drivers with an increased risk of RTA associated with intoxication or refusal of medical examination were established, which are highly likely to correspond to persons with behavioral disorders associated with alcohol and drug use. A statistically significant relationship was established between some characteristics of the considered group of drivers. Conclusion. It seems advisable to introduce foreign experience in the implementation of admission to drive vehicles in terms of transferring information from the Ministry of the Interior of the Russian Federation to the drug treatment service about cases of illegal behavior related to the use of alcohol and (or) drugs.
