In order to verify compliance with the international drug control treaties, the Board examines measures taken by Governments to implement treaty provisions aimed at achieving the general objectives of the conventions. Over the years, the provisions of the treaties have been supplemented by control measures taken by the Economic and Social Council and the Commission on Narcotic Drugs to improve efficiency. This section provides Recommendations to Governments, the United Nations and other relevant international and national organizations.
