Аннотация:
Background. Current trends in mortality from alcohol causes require regular analysis and discussion to improve the registration and objectification of the level of alcohol consumption by the population.
Aim: to analyze the official indicators of alcohol mortality in the population of the Zabaykalsky Region for 2005–2020.
Methods. The indicators of alcoholic mortality were calculated on the basis of the State Statistics.
Results. In the Zabaykalsky Reigion and in the Russian Federation, there has been a significant decrease in the number of alcohol-related deaths over the past 20 years. The Zabaykalsky Region is distinguished by a high alcohol mortality rate (61,0 per 100.000 or 5,4% of all deaths in 2020), which is 1,8 times higher than the national average and 1,5 times higher than in the Far Eastern Federal district. Of concern is the number of alcohol-related deaths among men of working age. The decrease in the alcoholic mortality was due to a decrease in accidental alcohol poisoning, alcoholic cardiomyopathy, alcoholism and alcoholic psychoses.
Conclusion. These results indicate that the improvement of the alcohol situation, although a number of indicators in Zabaykalsky Region remains significantly above the national average.
