Аннотация:
Acute alcoholic hallucinosis is a psychotic disorder characterized by predominance of verbal hallucinations with sensual delusion and affective disorders. In terms of prevalence, acute alcoholic hallucinoses rank second among alcoholic psychoses after alcoholic delirium.
The purpose of the study was to systematize scientific data on the history of studying alcoholic hallucinoses, their pathogenesis, clinical presentation and treatment approaches.
Research material and methods: When writing the review searches were undertaken in three representative databases: Elibrary, PubMed and Google Scholar. The following words were used as the search instruments: alcoholic hallucinosis, alcoholic psychosis, metalcoholic psychosis, complicated alcohol withdrawal syndrome, alcohol hallucinosis, alcohol-related psychosis, alcohol-induced psychosis, alcohol-induced psychotic disorder.
Results of the study: The review of available scientific information sources was performed, data were systematized and briefly submitted, and the information regarding the history of studying alcoholic hallucinoses, their pathogenesis, clinical presentation and treatment approaches was provided.
