Introduction. The state of systemic transformation has affected most countries of the world and the Belarusian society, leading to the formation of a new system of economic, political, social and cultural relations. However, the process of social transformation is inevitably accompanied by positive negative social changes. One of the negative social consequences is the continuing level of crime, the abuse of psychoactive substances (PS), antisocial phenomena that hinder the sustainable development of the main spheres of life of modern Belarusian society.
Methods. The study was conducted in the Medical and labor dispensaries No. 1 and No. 5 of the DIN Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus (LTP No. 1) (LTP No. 5). A total of 300 patients were examined (LTP No. 1 – 200 and LTP No. 5 – 100), which were divided into two groups: Group I – patients with alcohol dependence syndrome, who are in LTP, undergoing the developed method of complex medical rehabilitation using occupational therapy (n =150); Group II – patients with alcohol dependence syndrome undergoing a standard program of medical and social readaptation (n=150). To determine the relationship, the questionnaire “Methods of cooperative behavior” by R. Lazarus and the questionnaire “Motivation of alcohol consumption in patients with alcoholism and in healthy people” were used V. Yu. Zavyalova. Statistical analysis was carried out using the SPSS 19.0 program. To establish the relationship, the Spearman correlation coefficient for independent samples was used, it is designed to determine the strength and direction of the relationship between several factors.
Results. The results of the study made it possible to identify a change in the direction of motives and the choice of coping strategies in persons who are in LTP with alcohol addiction and different criminogenic experience: in persons with no criminogenic experience, socio-psychological motives and social influence prevail, in persons with one conviction personal (ataractic) motives become predominant, as criminogenic experience is consolidated, pathological (addictive) motives become dominant.
Conclusion. Consolidation of alcoholic and illegal stereotypes progressively influences the choice of non-adaptive coping strategies –
distancing; escape-avoidance. Thus, alcohol dependence greatly potentiates the emergence of illegal actions and leads to a change in social and legal status.
