Socio-psychological support of codependent family members of patients in drug treatment hospitals.

Introduction. The improvement of medical and socio-psychological assistance to narcological patients is closely related to the involvement of the microsocial environment representatives in the treatment and rehabilitation process.It is necessary to search for conditions that increase the effectiveness of narcological profile medical services specialists interaction with dependent patients relatives in order to achieve their own role understandingin maintaining codependent behavior. Aim: to systematize the interaction stages with codependent relatives to increase the patients with substance dependence psychosocial therapy and rehabilitation effectiveness. Methods. The methodological basis was a comprehensive modern domestic and foreign clinical and social approaches, methodological recommendations, scientific developments analysis to improve psychosocial therapy and rehabilitation, as well as a drug treatment service modernization experience generalization in recent years and the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health Main Provisions. Results and discussion. The algorithm for consolidating the specialists efforts and the possibilities patients’ co-dependent relatives involving in clinical rehabilitation work is presented in the three-stage process form: 1) diagnostic – identification of typical dependent behavior codependents regarding problems cognitive errors; 2) therapeutic and restorative – creating motivation for changes in their own functioning, changing family roles, understanding and taking responsibility for the impact that their attitudes and behavior have on dependent family members; 3) psycho-educational – explaining to relatives the skills and abilities to create a resource family model in treatment and rehabilitation work with addicts and assistance in mastering them. Conclusion. The interaction tasks systematization and concretization with codependent relatives provide an understanding the psychosocial influences aimed scale and nature at improving the effectiveness of drug-addicted patients treatment and rehabilitation, increases the dependent’s family chances to gain a real existing problems vision in family functioning.
