Aim: study of viability by the people who suffer the alcohol use disorders conditionally healthy and in remission.
Methods. The AUDIT questionnaire was used to determine the level of alcohol consumption; the duration of remission was determined using interviews; the methods «Viability» and «Self-Regulation of behavior» were used to study vitality; the method «Mini Cartoon» was used to study personality characteristics and reliability of responses.
Results. The respondents in remission have the most lowest level of flexibility compared to respondents who suffer alcohol use disorders and normal. The meaningfulness of life, the ability to adapt and flexibility in healthy respondents are higher than in respondents who suffer alcohol use disorders. The respondents who suffer alcohol use disorders have lower scores on the meaningfulness of life scale than healthy ones, while their answers are less reliable. Respondents in remission have lower scores on the flexibility and meaningfulness of life scale, as well as a higher score on the schizoid scale than healthy respondents.
Discussion. The results indicate that the flexibility of the individual during by alcohol use disorders has a different character than in normal and remission. Most likely, it is a consequence of the desire to look better in the eyes of the experimenter.
Conclusion. The viability study can provide information about the factors influencing the formation of a maladaptive style of coping behavior. This can be used in the prevention of alcohol use disorders and keep remission.
