Аннотация:
Objective: to summarize information on the deceased in whom alcohol-associated causes are indicated as the initial cause of death (PPP) in medical death certificates (MSS) and to discuss the coding of alcohol-associated deaths. Methods. The source of information was the electronic database of the Main Directorate of the Civil Registry Office of the Moscow Region. MCC for deaths aged 20 years and older for 2019, 2021 and 2022 were selected, in which codes directly indicating a connection with an alcoholic cause of death are indicated as PPP; determined the average age of death, the proportion of men and women; a comparison of the structure of teaching staff in 4 age groups (20-39, 40-59 and rank places by ICD classes) was carried out. Results. Three-quarters of alcohol-associated deaths are related to the male sex. The average age of deceased men and women is the same, but the structure of the PPP is different. The identified problems of filling out the MCC and assessing the role of alcohol in death (as a PPP or a cause of contributing to death) need to be clarified.
