Аннотация:
Introduction. The problem of the impact of the digital environment on human mental health is especially relevant today, the number of social network users has grown by more than 10% in 2022, the virtual world has become an environment that allows young people to avoid real problems. In this study, the relationship between the degree of Internet dependence on the type of character accentuation among medical university students was evaluated.
Methods. A cross-sectional study was conducted based on the Kuban State Medical University of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation. In the course of the study, a number of methods were used: the Leonhard-Schmishek questionnaire and the Kimberly-Young questionnaire on Internet addiction, in which 124 students aged 18 to 23 years took part.
Results. The results of the study showed that 64% of respondents have a high degree of Internet addiction, 24% of students have an average degree of addiction, among them 35% were «demonstrative», 28% «dysthymic», 23% «emotive», 15% «excitable» types of character accentuation.
Discussion. It was found that statistically, Internet addiction is most often found in students with «demonstrative», «dysthymic», «emotive» and «excitable» types of character accentuation, the data obtained are due to a number of reasons related to the individual characteristics of each personality type according to K. Leonhard.
Conclusion. According to the results of the study, a connection was established between «demonstrative», «dysthymic», «emotive» and «excitable» types of accentuation with Internet addiction in medical university students, the information obtained can later be used as part of psychoprophylactic work with students during practical classes in psychiatry.
